Halloween is just around the corner. The new spooky season brings the annual haunted houses, hayrack rides and corn mazes that we all love – but this year, movie-goers have struck gold! Our local theaters, AMC Showplace 8 and AMC Classic 12, have an awesome lineup of fresh spooks and scares for us. Grab a friend, buy some popcorn and settle into your seat! 

Halloween Ends

The final installment of the infamous Michael Myers rampage, “Halloween Ends” is a promising slasher sure to scare even the toughest horror fans. Set four years after last year’s installment, “Halloween Kills,” “Halloween Ends” tells the story of Michael Myers’ very last resurfacing. Loose ends are tied up and heads are turned… literally! Seeing this finale in theaters is a sure-fire way to experience a solid scare and enjoy your night. 

Smile

“Smile” is a new addition to the horror universe, showcasing a unique concept and exhilarating jumpscares. The main character, Dr. Rose Cotter, begins to experience frightening events that do not seem to have a rational explanation. These “events” quickly become much more than just frightening, though. Join Cotter in her fight for life in your local theater – and be sure to keep an eye out for a menacing smile!

Barbarian

My personal favorite, Barbarian is a compelling, suspenseful tale of a small house – one that simply should have stayed unoccupied. What will happen to the unassuming tenants when they realize they booked the worst AirBnB possible? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure – they are in for way more than they signed up for. So take a journey down the rabbit hole, step into the dark and pray you remembered your flashlight. You’re going to need it.

Now that you know about these great options, make a point of going to see one sometime this month. There’s nothing like a scary movie to get you in the Halloween spirit!
