The Boy Who Lived….sorry, wrong story.  Well, kind of. This is the story of Wayne Hopkins, a magical orphaned boy living in New Mexico with his uncle. Similar to the story of the ever-popular Harry Potter, Wayne also is accepted to a wizarding school in England. Wayne gets sorted into the Puffs house, the one no one wants. During his seven magical years, he meets his two best friends and fellow Puffs, Oliver and Megan. This trio conquers each school year as the side characters to the ever- famous Golden Trio. Never in the spotlight, these three learn valuable lessons and grow into amazing witches and wizards. But even after accepting the role of a background character, Wayne still wants to be a part of something big. Will he ever get his chance to change the wizarding world?

“We are not a threat, please be our Friend.”

I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I walked into the theater. As a huge Potterhead (fan of Harry Potter), I was anxious to see if they would do the series justice. I was pleasantly delighted. Already from the start, the narrator was absolutely hilarious. The witty monologue and interactions with the audience were perfectly timed. As someone who has high expectations with anything relating to Harry Potter, this play blew my mind. The script played out beautifully on stage. I burst into fits of laughter throughout the entire play. The actors poured their hearts and souls into each scene. I felt every emotion alongside them. Only someone who truly understands Harry Potter will catch the references and parallels to the series sneakily thrown in the dialogue and narration (don’t worry, even the non-Potterhead will get a laugh out of it!). The storyline itself was magnificent, but the cast deserves credit for bringing the show to life. The main trio, Wayne, Oliver and Megan, were cast so perfectly. All the actors were very impressive and brought this magical world to life. The show is wholesome, funny and meant to be seen by the masses. Please come out and support the hard work done by the actors, directors and crew of Puffs.

“You know what the best part about being a Puff is, Wayne? You fail. You fail a lot.”
