It spent over 547 days on the Global Spotify top 200. It is BTS’s first number-one single in the U.S. It made BTS the first South Korean act to top the Hot 100. It is the longest charting song by a South Korean artist.
Japanese Pop
“Lemon” by Kenshi Yonezu
It spent 234 weeks on Billboard Japan’s Hot 100. It was the Song of the Year Billboard Japan Hot 100 in 2019 and US Billboard Hot 100. It made Yonezu the first ever artist to top Billboard charts for two consecutive years with the same song.
German Pop
“99 Luftballons” by Nena
It was the first German song to enter the US Top 100, topping it at 2nd place. Over 500,000 copies were sold of this song; it won a gold record in 1984. The English version of the song, 99 Red Balloons, remained number one in the UK charts for three weeks in 1984.
