For as long as we can remember, teenagers have been the source of countless harmless antics to make their peers chuckle and old people wave their fists on their lawns. Simple pranks straight out of an ’80s coming-of-age movie have since evolved to become more elaborate and entertaining. Some have become even less challenging to execute and are equally entertaining. TPing houses is out, cheesing cars is in! Let’s look at some of time’s most iconic pranks!

If you are looking for a starter prank to give people a laugh, adding googly eyes to anything and everything in your friend’s life is a great way to go. You can add these jiggly stickers to inanimate objects to make them come to life or add them to things that already have eyes to make them look super silly. Similarly, you can get a pack of plastic ducks and place them in any crevice or creative spot you can find. Your unsuspecting victim will surely go crazy finding duck after duck in their space.

Looking for a classic “gotcha!” moment? Then turn to plastic wrap. Take this clingy material and wrap it around door frames and other entrances. Then sit and wait for your victim to walk through and get stuck in the seemingly invisible barrier. If you’d like something easier to construct, however, send a simple “where are you?” text to your friend and wait for madness to ensue.

Interested in a prank phone call? Well, you can always use the classic “Is your refrigerator running?” When the respondent replies, you can hit them with an obnoxious “Well then, you better go catch it!” and abruptly hang up. You can also wait for a spam call from a random number or telemarketer, and rather than admitting you have the wrong number or ignoring the call, play along! Give them a funny name and random information and see how long you can keep up the act without laughing.

Looking for some tasty pranks with a side of antics? There are countless food-related jokes you can use to upgrade your prank palette. Find something sweet like an Oreo or a donut and replace the filling with mayonnaise. You can make this prank even more chaotic by eating the same thing in front of the person (without the mayonnaise, of course) and making them think they’re weird for finding it disgusting. If you need something with a little less “ick,” you can cook up a tasty bowl of frozen cereal. For this one, simply pour a bowl of cereal and leave it to freeze overnight. Then serve it to your victim in the morning and watch as they struggle to dip their spoon in the bowl.

Pranks are a great way to get creative and joke around with people. If your goal is to embark on a delinquent streak, these pranks are great ways to get started. Of course, always remember when pranking to never take it too far. Pranks should be silly and harmless. They shouldn’t make the recipient dread the aftermath of what you thought was a joke. When TPing a house, help them clean up after. When cheesing a car, don’t make it so they can’t drive. And of course, remember to have fun.  Happy pranking!
